Warm Home for Graduates
For young adults with disabilities who lack community support
In 2012, the organization committed itself to lifelong care and connection with its graduates.
In 2019, a 2.5-dunam plot of land was acquired in the Kibbutz HaGoshrim extension to establish the first two residential homes for the organization’s graduates in the Upper Galilee.
Each home spans 440 square meters, with a shared courtyard designed for communal living, accommodating 20 of the organization’s graduates alongside local students.
Currently under construction to high standards with full accessibility, the first home—spanning 440 square meters—will house its initial 10 residents by the end of 2023.
A Place to Grow
This warm home, established in the heart of the HaGoshrim community, will serve the disabled graduates of Kav Lachayim who aspire to lead independent lives alongside peers of similar age. It is designed as a nurturing environment for growth, development, and improved quality of life.
We envision our graduates integrating into the local social landscape, participating in the rich activities the area offers, forming meaningful social connections in employment, studies, and leisure.
Kav Lachayim seeks to integrate local students from Tel Hai College into the home, fostering a social and communal connection between the residents and healthy peers. The students will also contribute to the residents’ care while enriching the project’s social fabric.
The residents will be engaged with the employment center run by the Kochav HaTzafon organization at Mevo’ot HaHermon, or in other suitable workplaces, or will have educational opportunities at the college or nearby, based on each graduate’s needs.
