Improving Lives
Providing Quality of Life for Children and Young Adults with Disabilities, Patients, and Their Families
The organization operates through four regions: North, South, Center, and Jerusalem, with participants assigned by residential location.
In each region, the organization’s children participate in weekly activities at community centers, hosted Shabbat weekends (around 15 per year per region), fun days, trips, long weekends, parties, regional summer camps, and more.
For older participants, the organization provides age-appropriate activities, including alumni meetings, academic sessions, “Coffee & Dilemmas” gatherings, lectures, workshops, retreats, enrichment weekends, and trips. National events unite young and older participants alike, such as Purim celebrations, Lag BaOmer gatherings, and special performances by notable artists.
All activities are supported by healthy, volunteer youth mentors who replace the primary caregiver for the duration of events, providing full assistance to the participants.
This initiative also provides a much-needed respite for families who engage in intensive caregiving, allowing them a well-deserved rest.
"Your children will become what you are now, so be what you want them to become."
Our Activities
Personal Mentorship
A mentorship program for children with physical disabilities, pairing them with volunteer youth who meet weekly at the community center, home, cinema, or other activities.
Community Centers
The core of the organization’s year-round support, creating consistent engagement with hundreds of children and their families and offering support in the child’s environment. Centers operate several afternoons per week.
Summer Camps
Annual summer camps for children with physical disabilities alongside volunteers. Participants attend six camps each year (one national camp and one in each of the regions).
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Celebrations
An annual Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration for children of the relevant age, joined by family, celebrities, and guest artists, ensuring that children with physical disabilities experience this important rite of passage like other children.
Hosting Shabbat Weekends
These Shabbat weekends foster “social change” by bringing together children and volunteers with host families across Israel. Annually, about 62 such weekends are organized, building social awareness and acceptance of individuals with physical disabilities.
Supportive Home for Graduates
A residence for graduates located at the heart of the HaGoshrim community, aimed at young adults with disabilities who aspire to independent living alongside their peers. The home provides a nurturing environment for personal growth and quality of life.
