With Every Shot, Dribble, and Pass – Their Legacy Lives On

Join us in honoring the memory of the Kutz family from Kfar Aza, who were murdered on October 7th, through a meaningful project: renovating the old basketball hall at the boarding school where brothers Yonatan and Yiftach z”l once trained. 

 Every donation will help transform the hall into an educational sports space that honors the Kutz family’s legacy and values. Additionally, it will fund annual scholarships totaling 100,000 NIS in their name for children from Israel’s periphery.

On October 7, 2023, the lives of Livnat, Aviv, Rotem, Yonatan, and Yiftach Kutz were brutally cut short in the horrific Hamas massacre. The five members of our family were murdered in the shelter of their home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. An entire family was wiped out. They were found embracing each other—just as they had lived: always together, full of love.

In their own unique way, they built a home filled with joy, warmth, and a deep sense of belonging to the Kfar Aza community and Sha’ar HaNegev. They embodied laughter, hope, and communal spirit. In their final embrace, they charge us with the mission to tell their story and continue their legacy.

Yonatan (16) and Yiftach Kutz (14) were talented basketball players who lived and studied at HaKfar HaYarok, where they trained at the Basketball Academy of Hapoel Tel Aviv. For them, the sports hall was more than just a court—it was a place to grow, challenge themselves, and succeed. Through basketball, they exemplified friendship, perseverance, leadership, and excellence—leaving a profound impact on their peers and teachers.

The renovation of the sports hall at HaKfar HaYarok, dedicated in their honor, aims to preserve their spirit and pass on their love for sports and personal growth to future generations. The renovated hall will invite children and youth to explore, play, and find inspiration—fostering teamwork, leadership, and ambition. It will be a living tribute, inspiring a new generation of athletes and leaders to follow in their footsteps.

This is not just a donation to a building or four walls but a meaningful memorial project with a lasting impact. Each year, scholarships totaling 100,000 NIS will be awarded in the Kutz family’s name to children from Israel’s periphery.
