Kav LaChayim Association operates seven clubhouses across the peripheries of Israel.
In southern Israel, approximately 100 children and young adults with disabilities, aged 6–25, suffer from social isolation and are supported year-round by the association.
The clubhouse provides a high-quality solution for daily social activities and enrichment programs throughout the year during afternoon hours, organized into groups based on age and physical and mental needs. This is done alongside the integration of healthy teens who volunteer with Kav LaChayim.
This year, due to the “Iron Swords” war, we were forced to vacate two of our clubhouses in Be’er Sheva and Ashkelon, as these buildings were required for use as public shelters.
As a result, we have rented a single building to serve the entire southern region, located at 12 Ziso Street in Be’er Sheva. This facility will function as a clubhouse for children and young adults in the south and as a hub for a special project that prepares young adults for independent living in the community.
It is worth noting that some of the children and young adults attending the new clubhouse in Be’er Sheva are evacuees from northern and southern Israel. This clubhouse provides them with a way to cope with the changes brought by the war and maintain a sense of routine.
The renovation cost of the clubhouse amounts to approximately ₪250,000.
The cost of furnishing and specialized equipment for individuals with disabilities is approximately ₪30,000.
The monthly rent and maintenance costs for the facility are approximately ₪10,000 per month.
