From the letter of Eliana Azulai – who longs to become a mother:
Where were you on October 7, 2023?
On October 7, alongside the profound shock we all experienced throughout the country, we faced a personal tragedy: I suffered a miscarriage and was diagnosed with breast cancer.
We are Eliana (32) and Shaul (35). We met seven years ago, married two years ago, and became pregnant two months before October 7 – the fulfillment of our dream to start a family.
Sadly, we endured the searing pain of losing our baby and the devastating discovery of my illness soon after the miscarriage.
The doctors explained that, alongside battling the disease, I must avoid pregnancy in the coming years, as it would pose a significant risk to my health. Therefore, preserving my fertility became essential.
I have undergone eight rounds of chemotherapy, 15 rounds of radiation, and two surgeries – an undeniably aggressive treatment regimen.
In light of the war, we made a joint decision that, despite the immense challenge, Shaul must enlist for reserve duty to support the IDF forces on the ground, joining me at treatments whenever possible.
Today, I am in recovery and continue to dream of becoming a mother. We have both realized that the only path to parenthood for us is through surrogacy.
A surrogacy process costs 400,000 NIS, and we need your support to fulfill our dream of becoming parents.
